The stretch between acceptance and first day
Onboarding completion analysis has to look before the first day. An accepted applicant who never appears is still a completion failure of the path you designed.
Letters of acceptance often name a start date and nothing else: no map to the building, no note about shoes, no name of the person at the door. In Mungyeong and nearby towns, people travelling from another county need a bus time as much as they need a policy summary.
We ask coordinators to list every contact between acceptance and arrival. If that list is a single email, the stretch is too thin. A reminder three days before, with the door to use and the name of the host, recovers people who would otherwise stay home rather than arrive late and embarrassed.
Count the no-shows against the acceptance list, not only against the welcome-day register. That single change of denominator is often the first honest number in a completion study.
