Questions that show an incomplete path
Registers tell you who returned a form. They do not tell you who understood the fire drill, who met their mentor, or who still has an unopened orientation packet.
Workspace Fern uses a small set of questions in joiner interviews. Where did you hesitate on the application. Who met you at the door. What did you still not know on Friday. Which page of the packet have you never opened. The answers are specific: a missing stamp, a locked side gate, a policy written only in one language.
Those answers become the body of an onboarding completion analysis. They are more useful than a general satisfaction score because they point to a sheet, a door, or a person.
If you cannot commission a full study yet, ask those four questions of the last five joiners. Write the answers in their words. You will already have the outline of a report.
